Boom!
It has been an odd year with the long winter/wintry spring, recession profession/fears, doom/gloom from the high gas prices but from the $500k plus lake sales and the brisk activity around Alexandria today (it took me 10 minutes to turn left on Broadway on to 6th and later I couldn't find a parking spot at Payless) this is the place to be in the summer and for your real estate investment (ofcourse, it is always busy like this during Alexandria summers and always has been but my point is that it didn't seem less busy and even seemed busier than normal).
This afternoon I visited a client (from Colorado) that bought a Lake Victoria home earlier this year. Because of their schedule, they decided to explore renting. They have had their new lakehome rented all of June and have it booked for August. The home looks fantastic after some equity increasing improvements (they have nothing but high praise for Oberg Construction, 320-760-2355). Some real opportunites still exist on Carlos, L'homme Dieu, Darling, Victoria, Cowdry, Miltona and Ida, with folks like Travis Oberg just waiting to help if you are like the new Alexandrians from CO and have enthusiasm and are willing to trust your gut instinct.
