I have family visiting from Washington D.C. and have been conducting a few tours. We stopped for a summer drink (Gin-n-Tonic) at Lake Minnewaska's Lakeside Ballroom. Sitting outside on their patio is one of the best locations in the Alexandria/Glenwood area for lakeside dining. And, I discovered that they also have some of the best pizza in this area. Besides the Lakeside, there are a couple of other restaurants on the lake at which you can dock your boat. This is a big selling point as the only other lakes in this area that offer it is Alexandria's Chain of Lakes. There are some nice lake home for sale on Lake Minnewaska right now that are worth a look.
