I was passing by Lake Geneva and Lake Victoria on my rollerblades today and stopped to film the status of the departure of the ice. Lake Geneva still has some remaining on the north end and a little on the east side but it should be gone any day now.

Winter At Alexandria's Baywood

Baywood is a townhome community on Alexandria's Chain of Lakes that is adjacent to Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center. Only one townhome (3 bedroom/2.5 bath/2,192 square feet) remains unsold ($357,500) and I showcased it in a 90 second video below. It is the home (includes a boat slip in the Baywood marina) that was used as a model home towards the end of the completion community.

While my video below would be much more pleasing (especially since Alexandria is getting pounded with snow today) in July with interior video with a pontoon floating by on Lake Darling but it does give me the opportunity to point out the winter activities. A short but not comprehensive list of activities that could be enjoyed if living in this home are: horseback riding, cross country skiing (besides having the lake there is a trail that passes along the shore and travels around the bay), snowmobiling, walking over to happy hour at Arrowwood's Rafter's, indoor tennis, the Big Splash Waterpark, tastings at the Carlos Creek Winery and some ice skating to wear off the wine tasting and happy hour.

Lately, I have been including a few videos of construction projects in Alexandria and I have a few more in the can as there is a lot going on in the Alexandria Lakes Area. My intent isn't too morph this web-site away from real estate on a lake but obviously this activity is still important to those that own lake properties or are considering the purchase of a cabin on Lake Ida. Partly, it is that I get a little frustrated with the economic doom and gloom as there are so many positives in our local community.

Even with my videos of Gate City Bank, Douglas County Hospital and the Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum, this is still a real estate site.
